History of Acupuncture
This in-depth workshop delves into the fascinating history and development of acupuncture. We’ll start by exploring the early use of Bian stones around 6000 BCE, progressing through significant medical texts such as the Neijing (100 BCE) and Shang Han Lun (200 CE), which shaped acupuncture’s foundational theories. Participants will learn about the influence of key figures like Huang Di and Georges Soulié de Morant in spreading acupuncture to the West, as well as the modern standardization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the 1970s. We’ll discuss how acupuncture evolved over the centuries, compare Traditional and Classical Chinese Medicine, and reflect on acupuncture's ongoing relevance today. This workshop is perfect for both beginners and experienced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of acupuncture’s historical and cultural roots.
